Red Bull Racing Team’s gamble didn’t come at the casino adjacent to Dover International Speedway. The roll of the dice came on pit road. No. 83 crew chief Ryan Pemberton called for a two-tire stop under the final caution flag in Sunday’s FedEx 400. Would Brian Vickers’ aging left-side rubber hold up for the last 33 laps? Would he be able to hold off the cars that took four fresh ones? O... more.

The Red Bull Toyotas struggled at the back of the field Saturday night about as bad as the Dallas Cowboys struggle in December, which gave Red Bull Racing Team time for observation and reflection. + While Matt Kenseth was attempting to set a new land-speed record (the race pace was furiously fast), Kasey Kahne finished 21st and Brian Vickers 27th — two and four laps in arrears, respectively. ... more.

There are six guys, and a handful of others, that rarely get the recognition they deserve during the race. Couch potatoes see them on TV, leaping from a knee-high wall — jacking, changing and rolling wheels that weigh as much as a 6th-grader. Kasey Kahne gave his guys the credit after Sunday’s Jeff Byrd 500. He said the No. 4 pit crew was the reason his Red Bull Toyota finished ninth at Bri... more.

Sixth place goes down in the record books as just that: sixth. It’s not a shiny number. It’s a solid number. And for a team that’s been blanked by a 1-mile slick and slippery race track for the past four years, sixth is quite an accomplishment. “To come out of here with a top 10, I’m pretty happy,” Kasey Kahne said. Kahne and the No. 4 Red Bull Toyota finished — you guessed it ... more.

The return, however, was brief, as Vickers’ No. 83 Red Bull Toyota got collected in a 14-car accident only 29 laps in. The crew doubled timed it — and even later corrected three power problems — to get Vickers back out.... more.
