Hello to all of my friends here on The Hot Lap! It is hard to believe that we are already at Homestead and wrapping up the 2010 season. Man, did this year fly by! As focused as I am on this weekend, I’m already looking forward to heading to Daytona in February. I think we have a lot of great things coming next year. I know that this off-season is going to fly for everyone. Before I talk ... more.

Good afternoon and hello from Phoenix, Arizona! We have lots to chat about this week here. First of all, it is really hard to believe that we only have two more races to go. This season has gone by really fast. I flew to Arizona a day early with my crew chief, Trent Owens, and we took the chance to hit one of the golf courses here. Trent is a great golfer and, well, I have fun. That’s all I’ll... more.

Hello everyone on The Hot Lap! The Nationwide Series is at Gateway this weekend for the track’s last NASCAR race. I think it is unfortunate that the track is being dropped from the schedule. Gateway has always had some really good racing and I have had a lot of great memories there. I made my first start at the track in my rookie year (2005). We qualified second and won that race. In 2007 we did... more.

Posted just a bit late: Hello everyone! This weekend we are racing at Dover International Speedway. The Dollar General team is rested after their well-deserved weekend off last week while I was in Loudon. The guys have been non-stop this summer with 17 straight race weekends. Now we’re back in Dover and ready to go! The No. 32 team was pretty strong when we were here in May. Even though we... more.

Hello everyone! Sorry that it has been a couple of weeks…but I promise that I have not forgotten about all my friends here on The Hot Lap. The month of July has been a busy one for sure. Especially the last two weekends with travelling between two tracks. Before I talk about Indy, I’m going to back up and catch you all up on the last few weeks with the Dollar General team. Last we chatted I... more.

Good morning! I'm typing this from the plane as we fly to Chicago. We have a lot going on this weekend. The two biggest things, my sponsor, Dollar General is also the title sponsor for the Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland and I am Nationwide Insurance's Driver of the Week. It's going to be a busy weekend, packed with appearances and driving, of course. Thank you to everyone who signed onto... more.

Good morning!  We just landed in Daytona and getting settled in.  The team is heading to the track for tech day.  NASCAR has a very detailed inspection process for superspeedway cars, so the teams usually spend an entire day just rolling the cars from one station to another.  I am thinking about hitting the golf course again.  Yesterday I golfed in Hermie and Elliot Sadler’s charity golf to... more.

Greetings from an extremely hot and humid day at Kentucky Speedway! We just wrapped up our qualifying lap here. Our best lap was 30.97-seconds, which puts us in the seventh position to start tonight’s race. The car was just a tick on the free side for our qualifying laps. We were pretty good in race trim so I think we’ll be up near the front for most of the race. Hopefully we’ll get our... more.

First of all, I'd like to wish everyone a belated Happy Memorial Day and to thank all of those who are serving and have served our country so that we may have our freedom. This is going to be a long blog today. The last three weeks have been a bit busy and I got a little behind on my blogging. Last I wrote to you, we were heading to Dover. We had a good weekend there. I spent Friday night a... more.

First of all, I want to give a shout out to my teammate, Brian Vickers. As I’m sure you have heard, he’s in the hospital undergoing tests and treatment for some blot clots. He’s doing great and definitely appreciates everyone’s thoughts and prayers. This weekend we are off to Dover, Delaware. I’ll be back in the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota for the Nationwide Series race. I’m re... more.

Because of the nature of racing, this weeks blog post is a little behind, but stay tuned as another one is on its way! Good afternoon from a very steamy Darlington, S.C. It feels like summer has already hit the South this weekend, with temperatures climbing well into the 90’s! Thank goodness we race here at night. It was pretty hot last weekend in Richmond, too. But at least it didn’t r... more.

I’m back at Richmond International Raceway this weekend. This will be my sixth Nationwide Series race here, but the first since May of 2007! I’m looking forward to being back in the No. 32 car this weekend. We’ve had a great year together so far. And after a second-place run at Nashville and a third place at Texas, I’m ready to win one! This is the last weekend for the Autism Speaks c... more.

Hello from Texas Motor Speedway! This is the sixth year that I have raced here. I first raced a Nationwide Series car in April, 2005. The next year, I drove in both series. This weekend, I will be driving in both races again, something I haven’t done at Texas since 2007. Of course, I’ll be easy to spot in my twin yellow and black No. 32 Dollar General Toyotas. This will be my third Nati... more.
  • Reed’s Blog – Off Week 8 CommentsPosted by THL on April 3, 2010 under Features, Reed Sorenson's Blog, THL Highlights
This past weekend was the last “off” one for the Nationwide Series until May. I headed out of town with some friends and the guys on the Dollar General team enjoyed a weekend with their friends and families, which is good because they work some long hours getting these Toyotas in tip-top shape. Last week the Cup team and I headed to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the NASCAR open test. It was ... more.
