Hello everyone! Sorry that it has been a couple of weeks…but I promise that I have not forgotten about all my friends here on The Hot Lap. The month of July has been a busy one for sure. Especially the last two weekends with travelling between two tracks. Before I talk about Indy, I’m going to back up and catch you all up on the last few weeks with the Dollar General team. Last we chatted I... more. -

Good morning! I'm typing this from the plane as we fly to Chicago. We have a lot going on this weekend. The two biggest things, my sponsor, Dollar General is also the title sponsor for the Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland and I am Nationwide Insurance's Driver of the Week. It's going to be a busy weekend, packed with appearances and driving, of course. Thank you to everyone who signed onto... more. -

Good morning! We just landed in Daytona and getting settled in. The team is heading to the track for tech day. NASCAR has a very detailed inspection process for superspeedway cars, so the teams usually spend an entire day just rolling the cars from one station to another. I am thinking about hitting the golf course again. Yesterday I golfed in Hermie and Elliot Sadler’s charity golf to... more. -

Greetings from an extremely hot and humid day at Kentucky Speedway! We just wrapped up our qualifying lap here. Our best lap was 30.97-seconds, which puts us in the seventh position to start tonight’s race. The car was just a tick on the free side for our qualifying laps. We were pretty good in race trim so I think we’ll be up near the front for most of the race. Hopefully we’ll get our... more. -

First of all, I'd like to wish everyone a belated Happy Memorial Day and to thank all of those who are serving and have served our country so that we may have our freedom. This is going to be a long blog today. The last three weeks have been a bit busy and I got a little behind on my blogging. Last I wrote to you, we were heading to Dover. We had a good weekend there. I spent Friday night a... more. -

First of all, I want to give a shout out to my teammate, Brian Vickers. As I’m sure you have heard, he’s in the hospital undergoing tests and treatment for some blot clots. He’s doing great and definitely appreciates everyone’s thoughts and prayers. This weekend we are off to Dover, Delaware. I’ll be back in the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota for the Nationwide Series race. I’m re... more. -

Because of the nature of racing, this weeks blog post is a little behind, but stay tuned as another one is on its way! Good afternoon from a very steamy Darlington, S.C. It feels like summer has already hit the South this weekend, with temperatures climbing well into the 90’s! Thank goodness we race here at night. It was pretty hot last weekend in Richmond, too. But at least it didn’t r... more. -

I’m back at Richmond International Raceway this weekend. This will be my sixth Nationwide Series race here, but the first since May of 2007! I’m looking forward to being back in the No. 32 car this weekend. We’ve had a great year together so far. And after a second-place run at Nashville and a third place at Texas, I’m ready to win one! This is the last weekend for the Autism Speaks c... more. -

Hello from Texas Motor Speedway! This is the sixth year that I have raced here. I first raced a Nationwide Series car in April, 2005. The next year, I drove in both series. This weekend, I will be driving in both races again, something I haven’t done at Texas since 2007. Of course, I’ll be easy to spot in my twin yellow and black No. 32 Dollar General Toyotas. This will be my third Nati... more. -

This past weekend was the last “off” one for the Nationwide Series until May. I headed out of town with some friends and the guys on the Dollar General team enjoyed a weekend with their friends and families, which is good because they work some long hours getting these Toyotas in tip-top shape. Last week the Cup team and I headed to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the NASCAR open test. It was ... more. -

Hey everyone! Boy, have the last couple of weeks flown by. I have some things to catch you all up on! I ended up going home to Georgia during the Atlanta race weekend. I didn’t want to say much in my last blog because it was my mom’s birthday that weekend and we had a few surprises cooked up for her. On that note, I want to add in here, Happy Birthday, Mom! My parents have been a huge so... more. -

Finally, I have a weekend off! As excited as I am to get back in the Dollar General Toyota, I have to admit that it is going to be really nice to be home for weekend. The weather is supposed to be great in North Carolina, so I’m looking forward to spending some time outside with the dogs. The weather will be a nice change after the cold and rain we’ve faced on the road so far this season. ... more. -

Sorry this is a couple of days late this week. I just got back from Las Vegas. I came home on the red eye last night. (Actually, I started writing this on the plane on my blackberry, but fell asleep before I got it finished) I was home for a couple of days this week, but they go by so fast. I spent last weekend in California with the Dollar General team. Vickers and the guys did a good job and ... more. -

Hello! I am sorry that I missed writing to you guys last week. It has been a whirlwind of a season so far! I had hoped to be writing to you about making the first Sprint Cup start for Dollar General in last week’s Daytona 500, but unfortunately that will have to wait until later in the season. The team did a great job on the car! During the Gatorade Duel, we made adjustments during the firs... more. -

Hello! Welcome to my new weekly blog on The Hot Lap! It is hard to believe that the 2010 season is already here. This year I am driving the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota for Braun Racing. I'm behind the wheel for 23 Nationwide races and five Sprint Cup races. The main focus for me during the off-season was getting the Cup car ready for Daytona. We feel like we have a good shot at making the ra... more. -
