Old and busted like who?

I think he means someone like Tony Raines, Jeff Green, Johnny Sauter, the usual go-to replacements that S&Ps in the Cup series opposed to someone new.

Old and busted will give you better short and mid term results than young and inexperienced.  Give them an "ok" car and they'll get you in the race, not rip up the equipment and provide needed feedback....particularly at specific tracks.

Yeah, as much as I want to see new faces getting Cup gigs, I wouldn't mind seeing a team carry a tutor like Mike Skinner, Bliss, Raines along with someone like Josh Wise, Jason White, Andrew Ranger who are trying to advance their careers to the Cup Series. I think a small time team like Max Q will benefits in the long haul.

Brendan Gaughan will run 4 races in the #33 for RCR. Sadler will run the 33 at Daytona with Kroger and General Mills as sponsor. Gaughan will run the car at Phoenix, Las Vegas, Bristol and California. sponsor will of course be South Pointe Casino.

Congratulations to Kevin & DeLana. I met Kevin in Daytona, and not only was he great to trade a few sentences with, but a bunch of industry people I've met have said he's a great guy to be around.

Guess I can't oggle DeLana anymore, though. Then again, maybe I can. Who knows?

Jack Roush said in an interview with SceneDaily.com that sponsorship for the 17 is about 10 races shy of a full season. Only know of Best Buy doing 9 races, and Valvoline was going to do a one off with NextGen on the 17. So there's other sponsors for the 17 just haven't announced them yet, I guess....

As for the #44 Xxtreme deal, doesn't Petty have the rights to the #44? I know no one else has dared to use the 44 in the past, beyond Terry Labonte, but that was ok'd by Kyle Petty... Interesting.

"Rights" to numbers aren't in perpetuity.  I am sure there is a gentlemen's agreement amongst active teams, but if the #44 is taken, just go with the #144.  Look how many #77's ran last year:  Penske/Wallace in the #77, RGM with the #177 and TRG with the #277.  To lazy to look it up, but I am fairly certain Waltrip and McGlynn each ran a #00 (2nd being the #100) in the same year.  Heck, the #177 and #277 were scheduled for a couple of the same races...but neither made the race.

Yeah, I know that any team could run as a #144 or #244, I just thought Petty was holding the number for whatever reason. They did run it a few years ago.

MWR ran the 44 in 07-08, then RPM in 2010 with Dinger. I don't think there is anything that is going to stop xxxtreme from using the number because I think it's been said that a fulltime team gets first choice at a number and Petty has no plans to run it this season unless they bring it out with Annett and Pilot a few times.

I hope I'm keeping on topic, a quick point guys, when both McGlynn Racing and Michael Waltrip entered the same race event as #00, McGlynn changed their number to 08.
