It has been reported that Eddie Sharp Racing and driver, Craig Goess have parted ways effective immediately. From the article I read, it sounds as though it was more Goess's decision to part than ESR. Since the sponsor, Greenville Toyota, is owned by Goess's family, it is doubtful the sponsorship will remain as well, but that was not stated in the article. Trip Bruce will remain as crew chief. The team plans to move ahead and intends to compete in the next truck race scheduled for July 7 in Kentucky. No word on a new driver yet.  I sure would love it if Steve was considered for his ride!!!!!

Park has a history of driving for Sharp, so I could potentially see him in the truck. Knowing ESR, though, they'll probably go the Round Robin route.

Bryan Silas could take over the 46 since he is driving for ESR in the ARCA series as of late.

Justin Lofton just announced he's leaving the 77 Germain team effective immediately. He will continue to run in 2011 and will announce his new team before the July 7th race at Kentucky. Sounds to me like he's either going to ESR or to another team.

Silly season in full swing!

Lofton has backing and seems committed to Toyota. He'd be the obvious choice for the #46.

I can see the #77 shutting down. It'd be good for Germain, anyway.

Well since the #60 cup car is a flat out failure..maybe they might try to work out a deal with Big Red and stick Skinner in this #77 truck.

The #60's main purpose is to collect funds to race the #13 in races that GEICO doesn't cover. The Big Red sponsorship is worth peanuts. It's not going anywhere.

I heard this on Sirius this afternoon too, MMR. That was exactly the first thing I thought of.

Between this and the little Todd Bodine Texas post-race exchange that Ray Dunlap so publicly misinterpreted, it calls into question the state of the Good Ship Germain.

Germain had a shift in ownership. Can you say ''Driving the team into the ground''?

I don't know if it's driving the team into the ground. Whatever happened between Justin and Germain Racing has lost them a sponsorship that kept people employed at the team. One has to wonder if they end up parking the 30 like there's been rumors of, then you can have at them. But, until then, I think Germain and Lofton just were a quicky marriage with a quick divorce.

I think "Driving the team into the ground" is a hasty conclusion.  Didn't Germain only run one full-time team in 2010, with the 9 part-time? Maybe going from one full-time team to four was a more direct cause of the difficulties.  Whether they choose to put a new driver in the 77 or shrink back to 3 teams will tell us a lot.

I also have my suspiscions that these days, any TRD engineers in the Truck Garage are spending more time hanging around the 18 than any of Germains trucks.

Just released that Justin Lofton will, in fact, race the remainder of 2011 with Eddie Sharp Racing in the #46 truck.
