Wow... .32!!?!?! I usually have a little sympathy for things like this if its around .08, but .32 is just plain stupid. Maybe he'll lose his ride.

Damn,thats pretty drunk......

I don't even want to begin speculating if he would lose his ride, but if he was just drunk, and has passed all other drug tests/etc. and isn't drunk during the races i don't see why he wouldn't be.

When I saw 0.32 I thought that had to be close to dead. From a Virigina Tech website:

Blood Alcohol

and Personality

Unconsciousness

Scott Wimmer and AJ Allmendinger have both gotten DUIs before, and are still held on a pedestal by many. I don't see why Annett should be any different.

The only question is whether or not Pilot Travel Centers will drop their sponsorship of him.

It took quite a while for Wimmer to get over the backlash of his DWI

The way I remember it, a big part of that was the whole ''Hiding under the bed'' thing. After about two months for Allmendinger, it was like the whole thing never happened.

I'll actually concede that Annett's .32 actually exceeded the .22 that Rob Moroso blew when he got killed drunk driving by nearly a third. Not sure about the others, but I'll look it up.

EDIT: Here's what I found:

Michael Annett - .32
Rob Moroso - .22
Scott Wimmer - .15
AJ Allmendinger - .8+ (Nothing else specified)
Kurt Busch - Charge reduced to Reckless Driving

A drink with dinner, I can almost understand (don't get me wrong, I don't condone DUI)

But .32 is like crawling drunk.  There's no, "well, I didn't think I was that drunk," defense there.

Actually, I misquoted.  Sorry.

Come on man, it's all cool now.  He says he's gonna use it as the impetus to make a lot of positive changes in his life.

0.08, right?  0.8 is "meeting Jesus" drunk as compared to the 0.32 "seeing Jesus" Annett did.  Ouch, if he wasn't bring sponsor dollars to the program he'd be toast.

Very sad news. I hope the person he crashed into is ok. I hope he learns from his horrible mistake but I think he should be benched for awhile especilly due to crashing into someone while driving drunk where he possibly could of killed them and for resisting arrest.

anyone see a news report where it says how the driver he crashed into is?

Eric wins the internwebs for getting to the root of the issue.  Hope the driver is OK.
