Apparently Alli Owens is trying to raise enough money to buy herself a ride @ Daytona in the CWTS opener... the kicker is it's a fan-sponsored deal and with 2 weeks to go really, she's about a third of the way there. Now Alli's a half-decent plate racer so this could be interesting if she pulls it off. Not saying she'll win, or likely crack the top 10, but IF she gets the money in time, it might be interesting to see where she lands at.

Thoughts?

She's the most talented female driver I've seen so far...I really hope she gets it done and shows what she can do.

She is really talented at plate races, at least. I think she deserves a truck ride, so it'll be interesting if this works.

That would be interesting...

Also, I've found on the jayski site that the Norm Benning and his #57 team are done and that they are seeing if anyone will buy their parts.

That's a crying shame. Is Norm going back to ARCA, and will he try to attempt the 500 again?

Yes it is. I miss him dueling for the win with Kyle so often. It was like watching a modern day Petty/Yarborough battle.

Alli Owens might maybe want to possibly accomplish anything in ARCA before she possibly goes to Trucks.

RIP NASCAR.  It's all over now. Sad

She has successfully raised over $5,000 in fan contributions.

Isn't Norm locked in for the first 5 races next year? o.O

Looks like there will be a press release sometime next week. She will be in a Ray Hackett  Racing truck, but she still needs more funding.

Since Norm won't return...his points need to go to another team or his locked in spot would go to the Lafferty #89 truck, I believe?

Oh for the love of humanity, I hope not. It's bad enough when Mike Harmon shows up LOLafferty's team in the back up JJC truck with the red lettering.
