I was enlightened to nascar.com story of Argentine road racer Marcos di Palma this whole weekend.

http://www.nascar.com/2010/news/features/03/19/mdipalma.roadtrip.bristol/index.html

He met alot of drivers & NASCAR personals this weekend. Plus, he is considered to be the "Dale Jr." of Argentina road racing. In the story, he will be at the Daytona race weekend in July. Also, he wants to race in the Nationwide/Sprint series in the near future. I think he will be good in the sport.

If he's the Dale Jr of argentina, that means there's some fan down there who's ready to give up on him when once a month he shows a flash of promise to suck him right back in as a fan.

And he must be awful on pit road as well

di Palma is not one of the best drivers from Argentine racing in my opinion, and I'd rather see a driver from TC2000 (and not TC, as di Palma is from, which is more of a GT discipline than touring cars) as José María López who is winning championships head to NASCAR than a guy with no championships in his career with a background more along the lines of Boris Said, who can't get the job done in my mind.

I'd like to see more guys like Ambrose, actual champions, come from V8 Supercars, TC2000, Stock Car Brasil, DTM, WTCC, BTCC, etc as I think those are the best series to develop international drivers for NASCAR at the moment (I do like the ex-F1 guys, too, but like everyone else...they have to take their time).  di Palma doesn't excite me as much as guys like Whincup or Ekström or López would (the former two actually considered NASCAR, but neither decided to make the move).
