That gives me an idea...TheHotLap should purchase some MSRP cars and field a team this year. I mean we've already got Phil to handle the PR, Checkers can be crew chief, the Smoke girls to pit crew, and put the freekibble.com decals on the car to start off with sponsorship. As for driver, we'll probably have to take turns nominating them. Instead of the Hot Lap sticker, we vote on who gets TheHotLap ride!

Who's with me?

WHO CARES!  We are not running the Cup car nor are we changing it to a COT Nationwide unless one of you want to spend the money to change it over! You guys spend more endless time on these dumb scenarios than I could have even imagined

I have an idea..y dnt u set up a fan donation thing for WARE and Stanton and whoever drives the car...im pretty sure there is alot of people out there that would donate a little money to get Stanton to a race or convert the car over.... Wink

A fan car could be a good idea but this is very short notice and it would be hard. It would be worth maybe trying so he could run the Coca-Cola 600 though.  Grin
A fan car?

What a GREAT idea!

Why hasnt anyone else thought of that or tried it yet!?!?

I know right. lol

Drew,

Perhaps I do need a nap but just look at whats going on.  Some of you guys act like it's just so easy to get stuff done and that money is just laying around.  Carrying on about "just do this and just do that" and having all the answers to how a team should be run.  Take a look around the Nationwide Series for a minute!

Nationwide only teams of the past 10 years: CJM-done, Baker Curb-went Cup drivers only, Rensi-hanging in there, Cici-done, JDM-hanging in there, Braun-went cup drivers,RWI-almost went to one team, it goes on and on.

Trust me, if things were as easy as you think, everyone would be racing, but then again people would still complain about how they are running.

Remember, the teams at the top are Cup affiliated teams with HUGE budgets and they are even struggling to fill races with sponsors.

A Fan car?  Yeah lets try to get money from fans that are struggling to put food on their tables just like we are. Its principle! Besides over done and honestly it never really works and the amount of effort it takes to do it costs money and time.

In this economy, that idea wouldn't work. And besides, I'd be a horrible crew chief.  Wink

Saw this little blurb about Tim Andrews on the ARCA site. Looks like he's going to be spotting for Tom Hessert this year, but hopefully he'll be able to run some more Nationwide races for Ware or someone else.

"Paul Andrew's son, Tim, is my car chief and spotter and I can already tell that we have a good line of communication open together and we will work well together. Really, I'm in the best position to advance my career."

I second this. Andrews is an extremely talented driver, and I'm really crossing my fingers that he gets the #31 for the bulk of the season, if not full-time.

Can't be that hard to say "bring it in" after 5 laps.  Smiley

Let's save more money, I volunteer as Crew Chief for the Texas races and Vegas.  If any other local or in-town-for-the-weekend talent will step up we avoid that black flag for not having anyone on the box.  If you can wait 5 minutes and say "Bring it in", you qualify. It's OK. Robby changes crew chiefs more often and he actually runs races.
