On GMA Danica only talked about IRL but.....her website DanicaPatrick.com between 8am-11am her website showed her in a JR Motorsports/NASCAR Nationwide Series/Chevy Logos on her uniform, but after the news broke on Twitter, it was changed to her Honda Uniform.

Patrick can run the ARCA race at Daytona if she likes.

Otherwise, she needs to stay far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, FAR away from the Nationwide Series. Period. The Nationwide Series is in a period equivalent to the end of times already, and it doesn't need to be killed any more swiftly.

This would only be news-worthy if she was in NO uniform...  Grin

You still miss the point rowdy

The series doesn't need her to bring talent, it needs her to bring her exposure factor

But what good comes out of that exposure? Nothing. Based on the amount of money she's asking for, sponsorship rates would skyrocket if she went to NASCAR.

If Danica Patrick runs in the Nationwide Series next year, there's no telling just how many teams will fall by the wayside.

I think your dead wrong on that one... More sponsors will want to be in the sport. Look at Indycar how much exposure they get because of her. The IRL will die the day she leaves. Watch.

IndyCar maybe, but NASCAR is an entirely different, and most importantly, a more expensive animal.

I'm sure that most sponsors would not want to sponsor the average Nationwide Series team for $20 million dollars a season, and some of the bigger teams for $25, maybe even 30 million. And that's what you're going to get, considering this woman at one point was rumored to be asking for a million dollars a race.

I dont know the cost of IRL but per race i would say IRL is going to cost more then Nascar. With all the technology in IRL i cant see how it would be less then Nascar.

Giants, how can you say her exposure brings nothing, and then in the next sentence state the IRL will die without her?

You've made my point, her star power alone is what gets the casual fan, which in turn brings sponsor money to the series.

Your comments about driving up sponsorship and killing the series is a touuuuuch of an overreaction don't you think???

As a matter of fact, I don't believe I am overreacting.

Increase in driver salaries -> Increase in the amount of money a sponsor has to spend -> Increase in resources, personnel, and equipment -> Dominance by a single team -> Other teams realizing that they have a lot of catching up to do -> Team expansion, spending more money -> Increase in demand for sponsorship money -> Sponsor reluctance -> Sponsor pulls out -> Lack of sponsorship dollars -> Lack of money to pay employees -> Mass layoffs, and after a prolonged period of time with no sponsor, most teams will shut down.

I believe that the introduction of Danica Patrick combined with the implementation of the CoT will result in the death of a lot of teams, simply because the Nationwide Series will get almost as expensive as the Sprint Cup Series, and thus less appealing to interested companies.

I think you are lol

but Danica & her peeps are very smart here. She knows she cant win a NASCAR championship so her main focus in IRL, and NASCAR will be to try to see how well she does in 3 years and collected $$$.

If I cant reason with Giants and Rowdy, maybe youll hear me out and tell me if Im crazy Checkers...

More attention means more viewers.

More viewers means more exposure.

Teams that need sponsors need exposure.

It blows my mind that someone as uneducated about the world/theeconomy/the state of racing can make the argument that teams like the 27/61/89/01/62/11 etc etc would rather have less exposure for the Nationwide series. Its comically ignorant.

Am I off base here CoW?

Im willing to bet even Stuckey agrees with me!!

Danny, are you out there? Am I crazy?
