His win last year might be another reason that Clint didn't get to move his points with him.  He's guaranteed a starting spot IF it rains out qualifying.  BUT the Daytona 500 qualifying is such a crapshoot that if I was him I'd be more than a little bit worried.

Kertus and the #49 GetMoreVacations.com team kicked off the 2009 season this weekend looking to capitalize on a fresh start at Daytona International Speedway for the NASCAR Nationwide Series opener.  Davis and the team came out of the box strong, posting a 26th place qualifying effort out of 50 entrants, easily locking the team in the field for Saturday’s race.  However, debris would end a potential top-20 finish for the team.

“We felt like we had a decent run going, keeping the car around the top 20,” he said.  “but during one of our runs, some debris knocked off our oil line and put us behind the wall for a few laps.”

The team was able to make the repairs and send the #49 GetMoreVacations.com Chevy back out, ending the race with a 38th place finish.

The #49 team will be back in action next weekend for the Stater Bros. 300 from Auto Club Speedway.  Tune in Saturday to ESPN2 or MRN Radio at 7 p.m. EST to cheer Kertus and the team on!

So a Oil Line break runined their good run where they would of finshed in the Top 20.  But hopefully at Auto Club the car will run awesome

So after reading some of your posts about helping out with sponsorship for Davis and what not, its inspired me to help do the same thing. Im currently looking to help Brandon Whitts team, I have no idea how to go about this.. but im giving it a shot. Hopefully get one more full time team out their would be great. Just wanted to thank you for the inspiration to give back.
