I actually would like to see the nationwide race at Lime Rock in CT..
It is a road course and it seems to be quite a popular track in the K&N series..I don't know how the garage is set up or the seats, but I think a Nationwide stand alone event there would be beneficial to all involved.
I don't know if CT is the market NASCAR is looking for, but it is less travel for the teams than canada would be, and would be a replacement that is a road course that NASCAR seem to want to continue to.
While its an amazing track, I could never see a top NASCAR series running there. There are no grandstands (you have free roam around the pits and infield) and there are no garage stalls (might not be an issue). The East series actually got dropped this season, Skip Barber liked the WMT better.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Rowdy, you are moving to NC right? Once you are down there be sure to check out the tracks, there are plenty down there. You will not be disappointed, use it to make up for your lack of Speed Channel.

With that loss of revenue, I wouldn't be surprised if IRP shuts down entirely.
Short tracks die, ISC/SMI/IMS laughs
This is a legitimate question, so please don't take it as a jab or anything. Have you, or anyone here for that matter, gone to your local short track for weekly racing at all? I go weekly to various tracks and would like to know how many of the messageboard fans of the big 3 attend any other short track races.

Eric McClure suffered a concussion in last night's accident.
Seriously, that really concerns me. What if someone hits at the speed McClure was going at a worse angle? I don't know if the HANS can take that kind of abuse.
Your collarbone will break before the HANS will in the impact you are describing. Plus the HANS isn't really made to stop a concussion, its designed to keep whiplash to a minimum and to keep your neck separating from your skull.

I was asking about sponsors that are out of the sport completely. The majority of those sponsors are still in the sport. I doubt the rest were 'Priced' out as Rowdy suggests, especially considering some of them like Grainger and Conway were sponsoring NWS and Truck teams. As far as drivers goes, that's a separate argument. East was a Ford driver and frankly he sucked, Mark Martin got Jack to run O'Quinn despite only having sponsorship for half a season and running leftover cars, Darnell unfortunately did not perform to the level he was expected, and the same can be said about Braun. Kluever was a complete dud, while Barrett was there only because of his sponsor, who backed out halfway through the year.

RFR has a habit of wanting to sign sponsors to a full deal. DeWalt was like that, it's why Office Depot went to SHR,and the current sponsors are like that. It's their particular business model, while it might not seem the smartest to some they have made it work for years. I agree that they could have scaled back their involvement, but to say RFR pushed them out of the sport is a bit ridiculous.
The DeWalt deal now has nothing to do with the previous deal with RFR, it was different people making the call between the two teams. That is a move by Stanley to showcase different brands, as well as show everyone that its StanleyBD and DeWalt is now a StanleyBD brand.

Kenny Wallace on Raceday said Richie Evans should not be in the Hall of Fame yet. He said Mike Joy, Dick Bergeren, & Moody picked there hero growing up. Kenny said the Northeast media is the capital of the media. He said he got in due to the Northeast media. DW agreeded with him.
Kenny Wallace is nothing more than a shill for whoever is paying him that particular week. His opinion stopped being relevant years ago. And as far as I'm concerned DW should take his spot in the Hall of Fame and fade off into retirement gracefully instead of sullying his image even more.
