David Reutimann Quotes:
ON RACING AT TALLADEGA SUPERSPEEDWAY – “I love the racetrack. I love going to Talladega. I think it is a cool racetrack. Some guys really hate the superspeedway tracks, but I really look forward to the superspeedway races.”
Dave Blaney – No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet
BLANEY AT TALLADEGA – Blaney will make his 21st start at the superspeedway since his debut in 2000. He collected two top-fives: last season when he finished third in the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet and in 2007 while driving for Bill Davis Racing, where he started from the outside pole and finished third. The Buckeye Bullet is ranked as the sixth fastest driver on restarts at the 2.66-mile racetrack.
CHASSIS NO. 27 – Blaney will pilot the No. 27 chassis this weekend at the Talladega, Ala., track. He most recently piloted the chassis in last season’s fall event at the 2.66-mile speedway, where he posted the team’s best finish of third. He drove the chassis at Daytona International Speedway for the Coke Zero 400, as well as the Daytona 500, in 2011. He also drove the chassis at Talladega Superspeedway in April 2011, where he led 21 laps before a late-race spin spoiled a solid run.
KIDS EAT FREE – Blaney will once again compete for kids to eat free on Monday as he looks for a top-10 finish in the No. 36 Golden Corral/Camp Corral Chevrolet. If Blaney finishes in the top-10, Golden Corral will offer a one-day “Kids Eat Free” promotion Monday, May 7. Details of the offer include a free kids buffet with an adult buffet purchase at regular price at participating locations and a limit of two (2) free kid’s meals per adult buffet purchased.
CAMP CORRAL – Camp Corral is a free summer camp for children of wounded, disabled or fallen military families. It is launching this summer at nine camps across the country, allowing 1,800 children to attend. Camp Corral provides a fun and developmental experience for kids ages 8 to 15 years old to participate in traditional camp activities, including horseback riding, swimming and fishing, with kids who share similar family situations.
IN THE POINTS – The No. 36 team is now 33rd in NSCS Owner Points. The team is four points behind the No. 32 and one point ahead of the No. 83. They are locked into the top-35 by 27 points. Blaney is 32nd in NSCS Driver Points. He trails teammate Reutimann by six points and is one point ahead of Landon Cassill.
Dave Blaney Quotes:
ON RACING AT TALLADEGA – “Talladega is arguably our best track as a team. Our biggest success last year was on restrictor plate tracks. David and I will have a teammate in each other, so that will help this weekend. We are looking for big things from both of us. As with all superspeedway races, we have to survive until the end and put ourselves in a good spot.” ###
