DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 9, 2012) – On Thursday, Feb. 16, NASCAR will host its 13th annual Media Day, an opportunity for media members to gather stories on the sport’s drivers and newsmakers.   More than 300 members of television, radio, internet and print media will attend the event held just outside Daytona International Speedway. Approximately 50 drivers across NASCAR’s three national series – the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series – will be available for interviews during the day-long event.   The event runs from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.   ESPN, SPEED, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio and NASCAR.COM will broadcast live throughout the day.   There will be designated areas for both print and broadcast media.  Designated Media Areas: PRINT: The print area will consist of seven trade show style booths, with drivers scheduled four or five at a time for 20-minute sessions in this area. Additionally, there will be three driver booths equipped with a wireless microphone and speakers to accommodate the large amount of media surrounding select drivers. TELEVISION AND RADIO AFFILIATES: The setup will be “red carpet” style in shape and format. Media will be stationed at four spots along the carpet, behind stanchions, and will have approximately five minutes with each driver. NASCAR banners will line the carpet and will be used as a backdrop for these interviews. MEDIA WORKSTATIONS: Media workstations with wireless internet and power strips will be provided.
