Back to the Lone Star State for Paludo
Miguel Paludo has one start at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS).  In 2010, Paludo made three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts in preparation for running the full season in 2011.  Paludo qualified eighth for his inaugural run at TMS, but was side-lined early in the event when he was involved in an on-track incident.

Late last month Paludo joined Red Horse Racing teammate, Timothy Peters, at the Goodyear tire test at Texas Motor Speedway.  Although, Paludo did not make any laps on the track, he was able to learn valuable information by watching others and collecting data with the team.

HOMETOWN BOUND:Stemco, one of Paludo’s primary sponsors for the 2011 season houses their North American headquarters just two hours away from Texas Motor Speedway in Longview, Texas.  For over 50 years, Stemco hassupplied only the highest quality wheel end components to the heavy and medium-duty vehicle markets. By joining forces with Duroline, a Brazil based company, Stemco  now adds heavy-duty brake linings to their product portfolio.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 7 team will unload chassis No. 123 this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.  This truck competed last weekend at Kansas Speedway earning a 13th-place finish.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Last weekend at Kansas Speedway Paludo and the No. 7 team recorded their third top-15 finish of 2011. Paludo battled a tight-handling condition in the later stage of the event, taking the checkered flag in the 13th-position.  The run moved Paludo up one position in the point standings to 23rd.

Miguel Paludo Talks about Texas Motor Speedway

After a strong run in Kansas, what do you expect this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway?

“We had a really solid run at Kansas, and I hope to build on that momentum heading to Texas and get a top-10 finish. I competed in last fall’s Truck Series race at Texas and had my best qualifying run to date starting eighth. It is important to start up front at the 1.5-mile tracks because the competitors seem to get strung out so much during the race.  If you start up front it is easier to stay up front. I’m looking forward to this weekend’s race.”

You have laps on the track at Texas Motor Speedway in last year’s fall event.  How do you think the track will change from spring to fall?

“It is hard to say how the track is going to change.  We were there for the tire test a few weeks ago and it was pretty hot in Texas then.  I think we have good information based off that tire test as to how the track is going to react, but I also think Kansas gave us a good idea of what we are going to see in Texas.  It’s going to be hot during the day on Thursday when we practice and cool down a little bit for qualifying and the race, but I know the increased heat and humidity will change the track some in comparison to last year’s fall event.”
