BIG ONE BEATS UP 83: The Daytona 500 completed the comeback for Brian Vickers, who had not driven in a Cup points race since May 8, 2010, while he recovered from blood clots. The return, however, was brief, as Vickers’ No. 83 Red Bull Toyota got collected in a 14-car accident only 29 laps in. ROTOR, NOT A MOTOR: Kasey Kahne kept himself in position to win his first Daytona 500 most of Sunday afternoon, pairing his No. 4 Red Bull Toyota with several other cars in the top five or six two-car packs.
