Donnie Neuenberger returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the running of the Atlanta 200 with some spring in his step. Neuenberger is coming off a career high tying 9th place finish at Daytona and sees no reason to stop there.
“It’s great to be in the position that we are in right now, but we want to prove to everyone that Rick Ware Racing can compete for wins no matter where we go,” stated the Maryland native.
Donnie will be behind the wheel of the #6 EZ-Slider Cylinder Liners Chevy again this week growing the long relationship with a organization that has shown unbelievable strength in hard times, much like the driver they represent.
In 2004 Donnie began the race season with his first fully funded year of racing in the NASCAR Busch Series. He stepped out of the car five (5) races into the season after being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a form of cancer. After completing eight months of extensive treatment, Donnie then climbed back into his car at the 2005 Daytona season opener. His cancer remains stable and he has been working hard to return to a full time ride.
It takes a special sponsor to understand the comeback journey Donnie has been on. An All-American company, Quaker City Castings of Salem, Ohio, the parent company of EZ-Slider Cylinder Liners, was experiencing their own set of financial health issues. In 2004 the company was bankrupt. The Korff family purchased the company out of bankruptcy, and Joe Korff took over the helm of Quaker City Castings. The company provides parts for many of the largest companies in America and today the company is doing well. Quaker City Castings is a fully made-in -America, by American workers, iron and steel foundry manufacturing cylinder liners and other iron, steel and stainless steel castings.
EZ-Slider Cylinder Liners manufacture cylinder sleeves for automotive, truck, and racing applications, and produces custom liners to any specification. EZ-Slider Cylinder Liners are centrifugally cast, CNC machined, and ground in our ISO 9001:2000 quality registered foundry in Salem Ohio. Gray Iron, Ductile Iron, Compacted Graphite Iron and other materials to suit customer needs are offered. We strive for the best quality, customer service, and turn-around time in the business, with custom sleeve orders often shipped the same week.
The combination of EZ-Slider™, Quaker City Castings, Donnie Neuenberger and Rick Ware Racing is a truly American story, one of coming out of adversity and NEVER, EVER, EVER giving up.
“We believe that we have seen the rough times and our hard work is starting to payoff. With this team and sponsor, I feel that we have every chance to run at the point and if the cards fall properly, it could be a weekend many will never forget,” stated Neuenberger.

Good luck to Donnie Neuenberger this weekend in Atlanta. Hopefully Joe Korff and the now infamous EZ-Sliders Programme’ can wrap together another Top 9 finish in one of NASCAR’s top circuits.
Also, good luck to 2010 ‘Couver Olympic Bobsled Team owner Geoffrey Bodine #95, as well as Carl-Long’s #01. Long and Bodine returne’ to the series after a long, but well noted hiatus.

Hearing that BestBuy joined Quaker City Castings AND PlanBTech.net for Atlanta’s #6 truck and Neuenberger? Can someone from either Ware Racing nor DGN Racing please confirm this?
AJ Allmendinger’s sponsor is Best Buy, but some truck sites are showing picture proof that the yellow Best Buy tag decal was perhaps sampling some sponsorship with Rick Ware Racing and Maryland’s own, Donnie Neuenberger.
